Reviews of our school productions
23rd April 2018 – We performed both Don Giovanni Lite and Don Giovanni Reduced at Hampton Court House School feedback below:
“The music still seems to linger in the Main Hall!! It was quite an extraordinary sensation to experience your distilled and crystalline production. Everyone afterwards commented on how powerful the work was – not least being so close to the action. Thank you Instant Opera for giving so very generously of your time to perform for the children in the afternoon. This was, without question, a key moment in the lives of many of these students – many of whom will never have experienced music-making and story-telling in this way before. All of you have undoubtedly left a lasting legacy in the minds of many of these young pupils.”
Guy Holloway, Headmaster

“Thank you so much for brining such exciting music-making and theatre to HCH yesterday. It was a real privilege to hear Don Giovanni in the school hall, and I know that the performances will have made a huge impression on the children there. I think one of the most remarkable things was the sheer power of the voices when joined together in the ensemble moments. Hearing that up close, with Liam on the piano, was really special. Please do pass on my thanks to the rest of the cast, and for the wonderful set which worked perfectly.”

20th February 2017 – We performed both Figaro Lite and Figaro Reduced at Hampton Court House School feedback below:
“This is just a line to thank you… for the extraordinary opportunity this afternoon to hear 'up close' (and in an eighteenth century setting!) The Marriage of Figaro… it was absolutely clear what a deep, deep impression you were all making on so many young children. It was a splendid, splendid event... thank you for offering to do this for us. And what music!!!!”
Guy Holloway, Headmaster

“Thank you so much for such a wonderful day and performance. It sends a real message.. that we’re serious about music, and filling the space with Mozart for the day will have captured many imaginations. I was very impressed by how quickly everything fell into place, and how hassle-free the cast were…. I’d love to have you back. Perhaps we could try to make a whole ‘workshop’ day of it, with the students interacting with the story and music even more.”
